Three Hundred and Thirty Three Paws

Dear Fellow Wards, ok well maybe that was a tad dramatic. <sigh> I’ll begin again,

Dear Fellow babies,

Hello, it is I, Kimmy dog. Life has been pretty “routine,” as of late except that over this last weekend I have felt rather, neglected. Now, don’t get me wrong, I understand that the you two being the other tiny humans in the house need maximum attention. I get it, I really do, however, we also, we being the four legged creatures, need attentions too. I venture into the realm of complaints flying solo here because my pal Bella gained her wings and flies in the spirit realm now. I would like you to both understand something, I love walks too. I would like to have them consistently, even if it is rainy. There. I said it. I have let my complaint be known. I am done now.

Ahhh, I feel better now that I got that off of my chest. I just miss my walks and it was rainy for a couple of days in a row and there was some holiday transpiring and such. Yadda, yadda, yadda. But, remember, priority this: Kimmy likes the walks, the exercise, and she would like to venture out and about too, thank you very much.

xo,

Kimmy

Sunshine morning time!

Three Hundred and Thirty Two Paws

Dear Brothers,

Ok, let’s talk bath time. Now, you both have a bath at the same time, but not in the same tub yet because well, LDB, you’re a wee bit bigger than IRB and that’s not the safest plan until he can support himself better with posture. So, this dual bath deal makes my job a bit more challenging. Here’s why: I run between two rooms and routines making sure that both my babes are ok! I love to drink water from a cup prior to the soapy business with you LDB and then I get splashed by your kick-kick-kicks IRB.

You both share bath time with me in some form or another. I love the bath time because I know for certain that stories and milks for one babe and stories for the other are coming up next. Then, after all that TLC business for both of you is: KIMMY TIME! I get mama and dada all to myself during sleep times. We play a bit, do my potty routine, and my vitamins and foods. Then I get lots of pets, hugs, and snuggles while they both do the chat talk chat chat thing before going upstairs to have their sleeps. I like to sleep on my chair bed or sometimes I sneak to your spot. LDB I’m not sure why you think it is just your spot, but never the less, I recognize it as such and I generally don’t go on there unless you’re eating your foods at the table place or sleeping in your bed. Life’s pretty great for us, you gotta admit. We have foods, shelters, loves, and sleeps. What more could we ask for?

Three Hundred and Thirty One Paws

Dear Brothers,

Hi there. It’s me, Kimmy, back again. Did you guys know that walks are my favorite? That and pillows of course, pillows and walks. Those are the things you were talking about with mama LDB, what were those things called… oh yes: opposites! Haha, am I right or what?! I love to share things I remember in my letters for you two. We’re all snoozing right now actually because it’s the nap of times. I mean the nap time. Who am I? “The nap of times,” hahaha.

That was mama saying that, how rude, interjecting during my letter writing time. I know she’s my scribe but really now! One must not assume that I have nothing to say…. mama. Alright, enough of those feelings. I’m super cozy right now. I am actually snoozing on the couch on top of your pillow LDB! What do you think about that? It’s going to smell all Kimmy-doggy-like and be warm when you come back from your nap. Haha, I love it. That’s my way of sharing a little piece of myself with you. Speaking of sharing, how about our walk yesterday afternoon? That was pretty fun wasn’t it? You were excited for me LDB, and IRB, you had some big feelings to share about a nap while on a walk. Although, you seemed to settle into the walk nap and relax after three blocks. You napped and we walked, I loved it. Walk naps, baby naps, I walk, you name it, we’re together: I’m all for it. Or would that be four it because I have four legs and four paws…. hmmm? I’ll consult with my editor and get back to you shortly.

Sweet baby hand on his Kimmy pal.

Three Hundred and Thirty Paws

Dear Brothers,

Greetings from nap time snoozes on the parent’s bed. It is a drip, drip, drippy kind of day today. You know the type of day little ones. It’s so drippy that the rain comes back up to boop you on the nose. The sky, the ground, and the fence all match with their drippiness. I’m quite exhausted from the early time this morning that you both woke up. Although, little one, you fell back asleep, but mama was up and, “at ‘em” right when you started making noise. She did her routine and then laid down for a bit. Then I heard both of you make noises and we were all, “up and at ‘em,” together.

The best part of my morning time was when you cuddled with me LDB. I loved the couch snuggles and giving little one encouragement on his mat. You worked hard on your belly littles, you’re almost there with the rolling business. I just know that it’ll happen sooner than later and I’ll have you trailing around after me and maybe one day, to give me snuggles too. Secretly, I just can’t wait. LDB you’ve been quite busy with the crane you got for Hannukah. It looks like a full on construction site in the middle of the carpet where we all play. Who knew they made tiny versions of what we go see every few days? I like the miniature version just fine, except when it visits me in my sleepy spots. Those events, I don’t like. Off to the dreamy lands now!

Sunshine beauty!

Three Hundred and Twenty Nine Paws

Dear IRB,

Little bear baby, how are you doing? It’s one of those rainy days where I just want to tuck my paws and tail into a ball and sleep all day. Oh wait a minute, that’s what I am doing anyway! Hahaha, my paws tell me that I am funny. Mama tells me that too. What can I say, I’m a funny doggy! I break out the funnies whenever I need a little bit of a chuckle to keep my spirits up. This is especially the case when it’s rainy with dark skies and no walk afternoons.

I get out and romp around the house with you and brother though. We had a play session outside yesterday as well, but I wasn’t really feeling up for a race around the grass. Sometimes the mud feels delightful underneath my paws while other times, not so much. It all depends on my mood and my doggy spirits. We were reading, “Clifford, I love you,” and I was curious about the part when Clifford is feeling blue. Emily Elizabeth comes up with a song just for her pup and I was thinking, maybe you could write a song for me?

Currently, my name is hard for you to pronounce, tiny brother, but I do know that one day you’ll say it. So for the time being, “Mama, mama, while you’re writing this for me, could you please file away a song request? Thanks so much.”  In other news, it’s nap time for you both. Have good dream-ies,

Just me and my pal!

Three Hundred and Twenty Eight Paws

Dear LDB,

Happy Hanukkah brother! Golly, it feels like just the other day we were celebrating Hanukkah and IRB was in momma’s belly. Time really does seem to fly by. Mama has said, “The days can be long, but the years are short,” this feels like it rings true for you and your brother. I love you both so much that sometimes I close my eyes and I still see you standing there petting my ears after you’ve stepped away.

We have all three menorahs on the counter and the spinning toys too, oh yeah, the dreidles. Tonight daddy was preparing for making the tasty potato pancakes called latkes. I was so excited about the food that I rushed around beneath his feet again and again, however, I have the keen ability to trip momma and daddy if I’m not careful, or if they are not careful. I ran after daddy when he brought momma a latke to try. I really thought he was going to give me a taste too, but alas, I was not given a morsel. I checked the floor and cleaned up the remnants of the food in the kitchen. The house still smells like oil and latkes, but that is the point of the making of this human food isn’t it? The oil reminds us of the miracle itself: nes gadol haya sham. “A great miracle happened there.” I listen well to the stories now don’t I? I love you brothers. May the light of the menorah’s candles illuminate the light within us all.

Quick outside kisses from the dog.

Three Hundred and Twenty Seven Paws

Dear Little Brother,

Hi IRB. You have been making some interesting developments lately. One of our favorite things to do is practice standing with momma, daddy, or your play table’s help. You balance and move your feet. I’m pretty partial to your activity table because you can be right at my eye level. You’ve also taken to screaming for me.

Now, I want you to know that I am truly flattered, I am, but you have quite a strong voice little one. There are times when your pitch is, as Leo says, “Really intense, baby I.” However I do not want this to deter you in the least bit because, your thoughts and your ideas are important and valued. We love you so much little one. You locked eyes with me when I was lounging on the landing and you squeaked for me again and again. I remember when your brother went through the beginning stages of learning to talk. He has a big strong voice too. Maybe that’s where you learned it from? Anyway, I love you tiny human. Have good dream-ies.

Whose that?!

Two Hundred and Twenty Six Paws

Dear Little Brothers,

Guess what day it is? It’s the first day of Hanukkah! Did you know that already? I think I heard mama and daddy saying something about this while I was pretending to nap on the couch this morning. You were reading all of our Hanukkah books to Grandma Sara on the phone today. Sometimes I choose to get in the middle of the conversation with a quick, “walk by and lick.”

You might be wondering what I’m talking about so let me explain: I walk by one of you baby boys and I lick whatever part of you is closest: eyes, ears, head, neck, you know whatever I can get my tongue on and then I saunter away all casual. I just want Grandma to see me and to say hi to her. I love our Grandma’s too and I need to let them know as well.

Now, back to the holiday at paw, oops I mean, at hand…I’m super excited. I wonder what new books, jammies, and or items you might receive. I love watching the candles burn and standing super close to get morsels of latkes and sugar cookies that drop onto the floor. Hmmm. I wonder when we’ll start all the cooking. You made some sugar cookie dough this morning so hopefully we can bake and eat them after our naps. I love you dudes.

Two Hundred and Twenty Five Paws

Dear World aka Tiny Humans,

Mama was singing this song the other night when you came out of the bath Irving, “I’ve got the whole world in my hands, I’ve got the whole world in my hands, I’ve got the whole world in my hands, I got the whole world in my hands!” I liked the tune or melody that she was using too. You seemed to like it too baby boy, although you were all swaddled up in a towel with a hood like a baby burrito in the post bath mode. I love it when you’re all swaddled up. You’re a sweet little squishy toed babe. I get my licks in as mama puts you into the towel.

Other times, I lay outside of the bathroom doors waiting to see my puppies after they are finished with their baths. Y’all are the cutest post-bath babies. What could be cuter than that, my dear readers may I ask…? Matching pajama babies, that’s what! We had matching Halloween jammies for you from the Grammie and we will have matching Hannukah jammies next! Although, wait a minute, does that mean I have to wear jammies too mama? Hold on a second with this blog, “Mama, are you listening to me? I want you to know that I love the puppy brothers in pajamas, not myself, ok now that that’s all cleared up, back to the blog.” I loved seeing you both in your cute pajamas. We took pictures on the comfy couch and I sniffed you both to make sure that you were ready and feeling secure. I hear daddy playing the piano and mama just reset the dryer to drown out the noise of the music for you LDB. I better find my second nap position. I love you,

Up close and personal paws.

Two Hundred and Twenty Four Paws

Dear Brothers,

Have you ever heard of the phrase, “Kindness counts?” It’s something that mama says a lot when we’re playing in the house. I know that kindness is when we show how we care and or express our love, but I think it mostly means how we make others or ourselves feel.

Sometimes I just want to be a silly goose and I just want to make you feel happy. I heard you say that the other day LDB. You make me feel so loved, especially when you say, “I just love my big dog Kimmy!” That most of all makes me feel so loved; as well as when you snuggle into me and give kisses. Your kisses are so sweet little dude. I appreciate how you show you care. That’s all I have to say today. That and I love you.
