Dear Leo,
This morning y’all went on an adventure for a walk at a park, but I didn’t get to go with you. I felt kind of sad in my paws. Later in the day though, after our nap time, we went to the giant field, and you have been talking about ever since. I had always seen other doggies on the field, and this time, we got to go together! I was so excited to get all of the smells into my body that I almost pulled daddy and baby I into the garden along the field’s fence line. I pulled it together though, or daddy did, rather, and then we romped around the grass. I got into full hound dog mode and turned on the hyperactive smell radars. I smelled the grass, the brambles, the tree trunks, the grass around the tree trunks, the dirt, the rocks, the soccer goal, momma, baby I, you, your feet, mama’s toes, dandelions, bumble bees, the list could go on and on and on. Dada took us across the field with your ball in your small hands and we adventured to the, “dirt mountain,” and back and back across again. Mama sat on the ground and did the milks with the baby, and I checked in on them before we went back across the field.
Gosh, that was one of the best summer moments so far. I loved being able to explore and go on an adventure with my buddies. You guys fill my puppy bucket with love and laughter. Speaking of laughs, you laughed so hard when I was checking out the tree trunk. I’m not sure what was so funny, but mama said something about, “Snuffle-up-a-gus.” Whoever that Snuffle-dude or dudette may be, they have a good thing going with that nose of theirs, like I do.
